In her new book Celebrity Detox, Rosie O'Donnell says that when she was a child- she would beat herself with a bat and break her own limbs for attention. Swear. (According to Globe)

"My hands and fingers usually. No one knew. It was a secret. It was proof I had some value, enough to be fixed," Rosie said. She claims her habit began at ten years old, soon after her mother passed of breast cancer.

A physician told Globe that "It tells you how disturbed she was a child. Self harm is often a way of expressing anger and agitation. It can also be caused by other serious problems like bipolar disorder or depression." Next.
