Robin Hood...in theaters Friday

"Oscar winner Russell Crowe stars as the legendary figure known by generations as "Robin Hood," whose exploits have endured in popular mythology and ignited the imagination of those who share his spirit of adventure and righteousness. In 13th century England, Robin and his band of marauders confront corruption in a local village and lead an uprising against the crown that will forever alter the balance of world power. And whether thief or hero, one man from humble beginnings will become an eternal symbol for freedom for his people.

Robin Hood chronicles the life of an expert archer, previously interested only in self—preservation, from his service in King Richard's army against the French. Upon Richard's death, Robin travels to Nottingham, a town suffering from the corruption of a despotic sheriff and crippling taxation, where he falls for the spirited widow Lady Marion (Oscar winner Cate Blanchett), a woman skeptical of the identity and motivations of this crusader from the forest. Hoping to earn the hand of Maid Marion and salvage the village, Robin assembles a gang whose lethal mercenary skills are matched only by its appetite for life. Together, they begin preying on the indulgent upper class to correct injustices under the sheriff.

With their country weakened from decades of war, embattled from the ineffective rule of the new king and vulnerable to insurgencies from within and threats from afar, Robin and his men heed a call to ever greater adventure. This unlikeliest of heroes and his allies set off to protect their country from slipping into bloody civil war and return glory to England once more.

"Transform Me" premieres on VH1, March 15. "Each half-hour episode follows a woman badly in need of a makeover-on the outside and inside. The subjects quickly find out this won't be your typical makeover. They'll be transformed by three transgender women."

The makeover team is led by Laverne Cox (VH1's "I Want to Work for Diddy"), Jamie Clayton and Nina Poon. The uh, girls travel across the country answering "style 911 calls" in their "deluxe fashion ambulance," helping subjects find the right style and confidence that comes with it. Really?

Gerard Butler is auctioning himself off for a sexy date night to raise money for Kids Kicking Cancer. You know it will be a crazy night when the guy smooches strangers on the street.

Kids Kicking Cancer is a wonderful program- they teach the children martial arts so they can focus on relaxation and mental imagery instead of their illness. Kids Kicking Cancer provides classes for breathing, meditation, and karate exercises to help the small angels cope. They use "mind-body techniques found in the martial arts." Little heroes.

Fans who make a $20 donation will be thrown into a hot Gerard raffle. "Everyone who donates to Kids Kicking Cancer from now until February 13 is eligible to win the dinner or another one of the prizes Butler is offering, which includes a set visit to one of his upcoming movies and reserved seating at a red carpet premiere."

Remember the hot, steamy chemistry between Brad & Angelina during the filming of Mr. & Mrs. Smith? Well.. Angie has another hot, new steamy film coming up, The Tourist.

Last week Life & Style obtained a draft of Julian Fellow's screenplay and scenes go down a similar burning path. Except not with Brad. Angelina's rumored co-star is luscious, charming Johnny Depp. (Word is Tom Cruise was originally intended to play the role. Bad visual.)

Jolie will play Interpol agent Cara Mason and Depp will play Frank Taylor, an American tourist who she uses to get what she wants. Shocker.

A scene from the draft goes like this, "The outline of her naked body is visible in the shower. Frank walks to the shower and opens the glass door. Walking in, he lifts Cara against the glass, clutching at her slithery body, kissing her frantically. She kisses him back with ardor, wrapping her dripping legs around his back." Yowza.

Johnny, 46 and Jolie, 34 will start shooting at the beginning of the year and will release in 2011. Will the be sparks? Tun tun tunnn..

PETA's new naked chick

Dancing With the Stars Joanna Krupa's new PETA ad is meant to catch your attention, and it looks like it already has. The message is to "always adopt and never buy animals from a pet store or breeder." Agreed! However, The Catholic League isn't too happy with this one.

Catholic League President Bill Donohue says that PETA has "launched a Christmas campaign that exploits Christian symbols."

"In my heart I know that Jesus would never condone the suffering that results when dogs and cats are allowed to breed," Krupa responded. She added that she is a practicing Catholic and she is surprised that the Catholic League would come against her for a campaign that she's proud of. Point is, we are talking about it. The Trump Rule

TMZ obtained "a tape recorded during the pre-show screening portion of the 2009 pageant, in which Trump can clearly be heard exercising "The Trump Rule." The rule guarantees a certain number of "beautiful" women will advance in the contest.

On the tape, Trump explains that when he "bought" the Miss USA pageant, "the most beautiful people were never chosen. And I went nuts." So, according to the audio, Trump implemented "The Trump Rule" -- in which he and his staff of "professionals" would select "almost half" of the women who would automatically make it into the first round of the contest. Leo and the School of Scorsese

Leonardo DiCaprio just finished up Shutter Island, his fourth film with Martin Scorsese. Leo says working with Scorsese is like attending school. The director asks the cast to watch "a vast number of films before working on a new project because the filmmaker is so insistent on thorough research."

"We watch a lot of films for lighting and mood tone, a lot of obscure movies," Leo said. "I remember for 'The Aviator' we watched 'House of Wax' just for the dialogue - because Marty remembered the dialogue in that movie was really snappy." Obscure.

He continues, "It's like a little cool learning workshop before we start to make the movie. It's a film course, you get a crash course, like an education."

"He's the best teacher. I'm sure that there are professors out there but I would challenge anyone to know as much about movies as him.

"I would see Marty up there against anyone in the world as far as film knowledge is concerned because it's weird. He knows not only the film but the editor and second assistant director of an obscure French film. It's weird because that's what he does, that's all he does, that's who he is. He's a man of film."
