Listen up

Cameron Diaz surprised a class last week at Stanford University when she helped lead a lecture on environmentally friendly design.

Diaz’s appearance came as part of taping for an mtvU program called “Stand-In” in which celebrities teach a class. On Tuesday, Madonna lectured students at New York’s Hunter College.

A champion of environmental causes, Diaz served as a partner for friend and renowned environmental architect William McDonough, a consulting professor at Stanford.

Time to split?

Rumor is that Julia Roberts marriage is on the rocks. She has been married to photographer Danny Moder for three years. Apparently the pressure of parenthood is taking it's toll.

A source said, "There is something wrong and neither wants to talk about it. Danny is distant and Julia wants to be on her own. She tells Danny what to do as far as the kids are concerned, like when Danny should take them for a walk, when he can play with them and things like that."

The insider said, "He has grumbled that Julia trusts the nanny to be with the babies more than she trusts him."

Will Roberts leave Moder behind when she goes to New York to be in a Broadway play this spring? Word is Danny didn't feel consulted about Julia's decision to uproot the family and move to the East Coast for several months.

Pushing your luck

Madonna got back up on a horse again last night with David Letterman. They rode two horses along 53rd Street in Manhattan on the Late Show. It was Madonna's first ride since being thrown from a horse in England this summer.

Madonna explained that she hadn't been back on a horse since her fall "because my record company is not very keen on the idea of me injuring myself. I have a bit of excitement tainted with fear," she said before climbing on. Can you imagine if she got bucked off again, on national TV? Yikes
