"The time is ripe to do the right thing," he wrote to the head honcho at KFC Canada. "By adopting the basic recommendations made by PETA and scientific experts (including raising birds in a more natural manner and employing less cruel slaughter methods), you could dramatically improve the lives and deaths of chickens raised and killed for KFC Canada....." She reminds me of poor Anna Nicole. Is Simon just waiting for her to fall face down in the middle of the show? Force her to take time off and get sober, so she can do her job. Damn.

Another one bites the bust
CSI's Gary Dourdan was arrested in Palm Springs yesterday on suspicion of possessing heroin, cocaine, ecstasy and prescription drugs. Damnation. That's quite the variety pack. Police told TMZ "the actor was asleep in his car at 5:21 AM when they approached the vehicle and made the bust."

"Scientology is scary"
This week's Us Magazine reports actor Jason Beghe told the Village Voice that he was "brainwashed by the Church of Scientology" and he spent roughly $1 million during his 12 year journey with the group. He says he reached a level higher than John Travolta, and he is so over it.
Beghe alleges Scientology people secretly record "auditing" sessions- then later gossip about it. Gasp!! Auditing is when members are pushed to confess personal secrets, a form of "spiritual" counseling.
Beghe says, "Will Smith is supposedly dabbling in Scientology. Let Will know that his shit was fuc-ing recorded." Beghe decided to leave the church after surviving a near fatal car accident. He says church officials suggested he was in the accident because he had a gay friend. Beghe posted a clip on YouTube earlier this month criticizing Scientology- and it was removed five days later.

Ewan McGregor removes skin cancer
Ewan McGregor says he's just dandy after having several cancerous moles removed from his cute face. After thinking it over he decided to have them looked at. Good decision.
Ewan said, "I just went to have them checked, you have to be careful if you're pale skinned and you spend time in the sun, with moles. I went to see a specialist who thought they were better to be removed, and indeed he was correct. The surgery was not that big of a deal."
When asked if the experience was scary, he sarcastically replied, "It was great fun having skin cancer, it was great, I really enjoyed it!"

Sandra Bullock and Jesse James hit by drunk driver
Sandra Bullock and Jesse James were hit head-on by a drunk driver in Massachusetts over the weekend, fortunately no one was injured. Sandra is in Gloucester filming The Proposal- Her husband Jesse was with her on the drive home.
A gray Subaru station wagon jumped lanes on East Main Street and smashed into their front end, according to police. "They were shaken up, needless to say," said Gloucester Police Lt. Gerry Cook. "But they were fine – he was hugging her. Jess and Sandra were hugging. They said they were fine, they didn’t need medical attention. There were quite a few people snapping pictures of them."
According to People, The drunk driver, Lucille P. Gatchell, 64, from Gloucester, was given a field sobriety test and blew a .20 on the breathalyzer – two and a half times the legal limit.
She was arrested for driving under the influence and failure to stay in marked lanes. Police said Gatchell didn't know who she hit, until they told her. "And then she started laughing, she was really giddy," they said. So far, Gatchell has refused to comment.

Ledger and The Joker
Reports are popping up that Heath Ledger was "urged to seek psychiatric help during the filming of Batman The Dark Knight." Ledger pretty much became The Joker in the film- he was warned not to let the movie take over his life and was even pressed to seek counseling.
Heath reportedly became so involved with the character he was playing, it affected his mood, sleeping patterns and relationships with other cast members. A source claims, "Heath refused to talk to anyone out of character. If you tried to communicate with him normally instead of The Joker, he would just ignore you."
"He would often come to the set to hang out even on his days off, freaking everyone out. Towards the end of filming, he was warned by people that he had gone too far, but it was almost like he couldn't connect with those who cared for him anymore." Surely his passing was coincidental and didn't have anything to do with his character? Either way, the film is going to be goosebump incredible...

What's with the big secret?
Us reports newlyweds Beyonce and Jay Z were all shady in the front row of the Houston Rockets-Phoenix Suns game on Saturday. Beyonce kept her ring finger covered the whole time. Why not simply acknowledge the wedding and move on? Is it because Beyonce is pregnant? The Enquirer says the wedding was thrown together in a crazy rush because Beyonce is with child.
They say the wedding didn't go with Jay's usual "flamboyant style" and it was so low-key that some people were saying it was a hoax. Especially since their reps denied to even comment on the whole event.
"For a guy worth $580 million- who treats Beyonce to lavish cruises on private yachts and demands the best of everything- it wasn't so grand," a source said. A spy told the mag, "Beyonce found out she was expecting and told Jay Z they had to do something fast!"

The phallic guitar is coming to Coachella
Festival promoters announced that Prince will headline the 9th annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. He will perform his first festival gig in years on day two of the huge concert. Coachella runs April 25-27 in Indio, California.
Jack Johnson, Roger Waters, Portishead, Goldfrapp and Love and Rockets are among this year's performers. Dreamy.

Hidden pictures of Elvis discovered
Photographer George Kalinsky was asked to go through his collection of Elvis photos for a recent exhibition. When he did, he found almost 100 never seen-before-seen images of Elvis Presley performing at New York's Madison Square Garden. Kalinsky said, "I thought I had eight or 10 good photos, but I found four rolls of film. It was mind-boggling. I'd totally forgotten that I'd taken that many."
Presley's estate calls the photos "iconic" and the collection will go to Graceland for exhibition. A rep told the New York Daily News, "This is an incredible and rare find. It is as if George found a treasure chest of never before seen Elvis photos."

Pete Wentz and Ashlee announced their engagement yesterday. "We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I, and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best," Simpson said in a statement.
