Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey's divorce may get nasty... the couple didn't get a pre-nup before their 2002 wedding.
Jessica made $35 million last year alone and it looks like she will suffer most. Californian divorce laws say that all assets should be split equally when there's no documentation to prove otherwise.
Jessica has hired divorce lawyer Laura Wasser to handle her case, who famously represented Angelina Jolie when she split from Billy Bob Thornton.

"My favorite show is Being Bobby Brown because you watch it and you go, 'Hey, Whitney's messed up too.' You used to think it was just Bobby, then you're going, 'Hey, he's got an accomplice.'"

Eddie Murphy has a girlfriend
Rumor is Eddie Murphy is dating Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson (above) and his ex-wife even approves of the match.
A source said, "Nicole thinks Shaun is the best girl he's dated so far. She doesn't personally care who Eddie ends up with but they have five children together- and obviously his new woman will be around her children- so she is only interested in that reason."

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's reality TV show The Simple Life has been saved. Yawn. The network E! Entertainment Television bought the program.
E! announced yesterday they will take over the show, altering the format so Hilton and Richie do not have to share screen time.
The President of E! Networks said, "We are thrilled to welcome Paris, Nicole and The Simple Life to E!. The addition of this huge comedy hit to our schedule will continue to distinguish E! as the leader in entertainment, celebrity and pop culture television." Yeah, yeah whatever you say...

Tom goggles unborn baby
Tom Cruise bought a sonogram machine so he can stare down the fetus in Katie's belly. "I bought a sonogram machine," Cruise said to Barbara Walters on her "The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2005" special. "I'm going to donate it to a hospital when we are done."
Walters said, "Wait, you are going to do your own sonogram?"... "Yes," laughed Tom.
Unfortunately, Babs missed the obvious (glib) follow-up question, namely, "What on Earth compelled you to spend $15,000 to $200,000 on your own personal sonogram machine when there are actual doctor's offices out there?"
Cruise's rep had no comment on the device buy, according to People.
Tom says he and Katie, who is said to be about five or six months along, still don't know what they're having.
"No, I don't. Barbara, I would tell you," assures the toothy actor. "I would say, 'I know if it's a boy or a girl and I'm not telling you.'"
When asked what he sees on the sonogram, Cruise replies, "A little baby."

Newly single Nick Lachey is developing a WB Network sitcom in which he will play a famous baseball player trying to "navigate a new marriage."

Celeb quote of the day
"Yes, we're married and we love each other. I don't ever feel that wearing my wedding ring is what determines me being married or not. I think that when people are successful, the public just wants to see or hear something that will make them less successful or happy in their minds. I think that's part of human nature."

Nick and Jessica have finally stopped pushing their own bruises and called it quits. Why did they drag it out so long?
"After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways," the statement says. "This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy during this difficult time." Blah, blah.....
