Word is Colin Farrell will stand proud as best man for his brother Eamonn this spring- when he marries his life partner Steven Mannion.
"Farrell is close to his brother and helped chose Mannion's diamond and sapphire engagement ring, when Eamonn proposed last year."
The ceremony will take place in Provincetown, Massachusetts. "Colin is a firm believer in gay rights and he is proud of his brother. He took Eamonn shopping for rings and intends to pick up the tab for the wedding." What a sweetheart!

Awww...how sweet of him. Most Irishmen are assholes when it comes to the gay population. They usually put on this macho face bullshit but it's nice to know that he supports his brother and the gay community.
thats really nice, family should stick together no matter the lifestyle choices
Uh...'choices'?
in addition to what tom pointed out,
uh... "lifestyle"?
neither word is appropriate.
but good for colin. it seems that over the last year or so he's revealed himself to be a wonderful person.
Erm, I actually don't think that's entirely accurate regarding Irishmen and their attitude to gay people chynaboo. Fair enough Northern Ireland is fairly homophobic as a society but In the republic people are generally quite open minded and the gay population is certainly more integrated into society as a whole than in the States, for example. The government is currently legislating for civil union and Dublin has a thriving gay scene. Gay Irish-Americans actually travel to Ireland to march in the St. Patrick's Day parade here (Dublin) because they're not allowed to in NY. If you're talking about people who were born and bred in the USA who identify themselves as Irish, well, whatever they'd like to believe, at the end of the day they're alot more American than Irish. Oh, and Dina . . . . . well, what they said really, no one chooses their sexual orientation.
I find that he has a very big heart and im proud to say i wish i had a brother just like him as my best man and a great supporter of gay rights
Personally, the majority of the gay people that I know are Irish. All of the Irish people that I know are compassionate beings and NOT assholes at all.
I always knew Collin was a sweetheart. I love him and wish him and his brother the best.
I think this is great- gay or straight, family comes first and it is this type of role modeling that sends a positive message to our youth here in the USA as well as around the world! My parents were married for 60 years - that's huge in today's world - just ask Elizabeth Taylor or Ronald Reagan (he was divorced for adultery by his first wife, Jane Wyman; Ms. Taylor was married how many times???). Well, good for these guys - I wish them a lifetime of love and happiness together!
I THINK YOUR ALL SICK
Well I guess there had to be SOME homophobic moron to say something.
I have never paid Colin Farrell much mind tbh, I almost clicked right past this, but I hope it gets more attention! People need to know that someone so much in the limelight is openly supportive like this...perhaps it will change someone's mind and prevent some young kid coming out and losing his/her family.
that's too bad collin's doing that. It sucks to see so many hollywood types condoning this behavior. Sets a real bad precedence for our children. I tell you what, I will ensure my child choses a united states veteran for his/her hero instead of some gay hollywood actor spreading his uneducated opinion through his popularity as a jester that entertains us! It sickens me to see such acceptance of this behavior. I guess hate the sin but love the sinner. But come on!
Please, if you are going to slam, do it properly. That would be, "I think YOU'RE all sick."
Please use proper grammer.
Kisses!
The Gay Rights movement is our generation’s opportunity to do the right thing. I am a heterosexual, former US Marine who put his life on the line to defend the Constitution. In my opinion, equal rights for all Americans should be our most important national mandate. Gay marriage, and other equal measures, is paramount if we desire to call our nation “free”.
While few of my fellow Marines (that I served with) can even remotely relate to a gay lifestyle, all of them support equal rights for gays, including gay marriage, etc. This is because they care about honor and ethics more than being politically correct in a conservative Christian nation – and they all have the courage to speak out for what they know in their hearts is righteous, regardless of the social stigma found in less cosmopolitan areas.
Given the current US laws against gay marriage, I find it remarkably hypocritical that we lambast Muslim-centric nations for their laws oppressing gays, women, religious freedoms, etc.
While I wish things would move faster, I feel certain that within the next 30 years equal rights will finally be enjoyed by all Americans – be they gay, black, female, Hispanic, etc.

Thank you Richard, for your thoughts and your service
Thank you Richard for being a voice of tolerance and intelligence. I live in Oregon, supposedly a "BLUE" state, but in one of the most conservative counties within that state. I wish more people would adopt the belief that we should each LIVE AND LET LIVE.
Hey Cranky Anonymous...I think you meant 'precedent' rather than 'precedence,' The United States should be capitalized, and I think you meant 'choose' not 'chose.' Just goes to show how ignorant you really are. Oh ya...so you can brush up on your reading as well as your grammar skills...Colin isn't gay, his brother is. Take some classes, would you?
