Mariska Hargitay, star of "Law & Order: SVU" and her husband Peter Hermann are expecting their first child, her publicist said last Wednesday.
"I can confirm that she is expecting," publicist Erwin More said of the actress.
Hargitay, 41, is the daughter of Hollywood icon Jayne Mansfield and Hungarian bodybuilder Mickey Hargitay.
NBC says it's "thrilled" for Hargitay. The network said, "Detective Benson will not be pregnant on the show and it is scheduled to appear throughout the season."
