Clarkson + NASCAR = Love

Kelly Clarkson got the hookup. She has landed the biggest partnership NASCAR has ever made with a music artist. Past artists who have partnered with NASCAR include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Lenny Kravitz and LeAnn Rimes.

"Anyone who knows me knows I'm a race fan and love NASCAR," Clarkson said in a NASCAR press release. "I look forward to hanging out with the fans, drivers and the entire NASCAR community." Clarkson will be "integrated into all aspects of NASCAR," including tv spots, charity events and NASCAR's big awards dinner in NYC.

"Clarkson's enthusiasm for NASCAR as a fan of NASCAR will surely develop into an unparalleled relationship," said NASCAR's Sarah Nettinga in a statement.

Kelly Clarkson is a "big fan" of NASCAR because she is receiving a big paycheck.

This morning the Speed Channel interviewed her and she admitted NEVER seeing a NASCAR race prior to September 2006 ( no doubt when the contract was inked ).

NASCAR needs to learn that many of the PAYING customers (i.e. those in the stands ) probably have NO interest in Clarkson, Pickler, the Barenaked Ladies, Red Hot Chili Peppers or Bon Jovi.

Why can't NASCAR be satisfied with fans who are white, conservative, country and classic rock music listeners who like to drive trucks and drink beer???
