Madame Tussauds?

No, Angelina Jolie is actually doing business. She "attended a roundtable discussion on improving the way the public and private sectors can work together to promote global AIDS relief" on Capitol Hill yesterday.

she is using her celebrity for the good of mankind, which is more than most other celebrities are doing.

Is "the good of mankind" some sort of code for "shameless self-promotion"? Cause other than the money for the wildlife sanctuary in Cambodja (which many say was given as a bribe to speed up Maddox's adoption), she went to Africa and stayed in expensive resorts and bought herself a baby, and all she does is show up at these things the UN tells her to.

People who actually wanna work for the good of mankind, like Bono and Ali Hewson, go out and do something on their own instead of just show up at photo ops.

Whatever that clothing company is paying her to wear that ill-fitting gray suit, it isn't enough. Who's the target consumer? Rose Kennedy?

A lot of celebs use their money and image for many causes, most do it on the down low, behind the scenes, she has just chosen to be very public with it. Angie's humanitarian efforts are fine but God knows that I can do without her press releases, photo ops, etc. The trouble with her many charitable causes is that apart from the attention she brings to it, she shouldn't be used a forespeaker for them, she shouldn't be sent to Pakistan or wherever it is she went last year or was it early this year to speak to the government, that is not right. I wonder if she understands more than the basic.

Anon 11:37~ You answered your own question. If she knew more than the basics, surely, we would hear her speaking about her pet causes like other celebs, i.e. Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin, Susan Sarandon, etc. Can you imagine her in front of a microphone in a televised debate? Me either.

she looks like a stepford wife

Audrey Hepburn my ass. She can't even be compared to say Sting, much less to Audrey. Even Chris Martin has done more for his cause, Make Trade Free, than Angie has. Whatever little she's done the merit goes to the UN, not to her. Her initiative has been zero.

A lot of actors/actresses and other wellknown celebs are goodwilkl ambassadors for the UN /UNESCO/ WHO etc (check bottom link) AJ is togehter with G. Armani an UNHCR goodwill ambassador. I must say that I believe she's more into this hole goodwill ambassador thing for her own sake than for the good cause it self. And the reason for that is that she puts her name/ face on it and it overshadowstha original cause. Has abybody ever contributed to these causes just because AJ outs her face on it?!? She needs to learn to put herself in the shadow and the cause in the spotlight.

same meeting? because she's wearing 2 different outfits and her hair is up in one and down in the other. red lipstip in one, nude/pink in the other. The man, however, is the same and wearing the same tie. I think your on to something--Madame Tussauds? perhaps.
