Brokeback goes to DVD in two weeks

Universal Studios Home Entertainment announced yesterday that Brokeback Mountain will go to DVD on April 4.

The DVD will overlap with the film's theatrical run. The movie is still going at the box office, finishing in the top 20 last weekend.

"The dual availability is unusual," says a rep from Universal.

"As one of the most talked-about movies of the year, Brokeback Mountain has not only established a new benchmark in filmmaking but it has also permeated the public consciousness to an unprecedented level," Craig Kornblau, president of Universal Studios Home Entertainment, said in a statement.
