Nicole Kidman is number one on the fifth annual list of highest-paid actresses, according to The Hollywood Reporter's annual Star Salary Top 10.
Kidman, who pulls in $17 mill a film, ranked second last year behind Julia Roberts. Poor Julia did not make the list this time around.
Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon takes second at $15 million a film.
Renee Zellweger, Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz placed third, fourth and fifth. They also get a measly $15 million for each film.
The list will appear in the Women in Entertainment Power 100 issue to be published by The Hollywood Reporter on Dec. 5.

Jessica Simpson and John Mayer are definitely on. The two hit a cafe in Malibu earlier this month for double vodka cranberries and calamari. A source told Us, "It's a flirtation. I wouldn't call it full on dating, but there is a fondness. He doesn't like the attention, but he likes her."
He better hold on tight. Simpson is headed to Louisiana to start filming Blonde Ambition with Luke Wilson.

Snoop DO double G goes down again
Detectives served a search warrant on Snoop outside NBC studios in Burbank last night. Police say they found him in possession of cocaine, a firearm and a large amount of marijuana. He was also cited for allegedly having a false compartment in his vehicle. Deeeeyamm.
Snoop had just performed on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and was leaving the studio when police pulled his car over and placed him under arrest. Bail has been set at $60,000, he should be released by the time you read this.
TMZ reports the search warrant was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation into Dogg's arrest earlier this month at the Burbank Airport, after he allegedly tried carrying a gun in a carry-on bag onto a plane. Just think if the police focused on ALL the celebrities like they did on Snoop. A new, all Hollywood prison!

Britney bails on Paris
Us reports that Britney Spears has pulled out of co-hosting with Paris Hilton on the Fox Billboard Music Awards, scheduled to air on December 4.
"She pulled out," confirms a source with Fox. "We really don't know the reason. But we're disappointed she backed out." I bet.
The source says the show may go on with Hilton as solo host, or it may feature comedian Brad Garrett, given he's at the top of the producer's wish list. Who?
Neither Hilton or Spears' reps were available for comment.

Cameron Diaz says she doesn't want to marry Justin Timberlake, because she's commitment-phobic. Catch it on Ellen today.
"When Justin was on the show I asked him if you were going to get married," Ellen says.
"I saw that," Diaz responds. "You know the answer to that, Ellen. I'm a commitment-phobe. Don't want to do it."
"I know," DeGeneres says, "but it's been almost four years now." Sure sounds like someone that can't do the commitment thing.
"Well, we're kind of like married, isn't it?" counters Diaz. You just said you're a commitment-phobe?!

PETA has named Richie the world's worst-dressed celeb. "This pelt-wearing party girl is all animal skin and bones," says the group. "She's an incredible shrinking woman with the heart to match." Ouch.
Ashley Olsen made runner-up. "Wearing fur does add 20 pounds," PETA says, "but if Ashley wants to fill out her frame, we suggest using a fork instead."
Eva Longoria also made the list. They said, "You'd think she'd be more sympathetic to the plight of rabbits considering the way she screws around like one on Wisteria Lane."
Paris Hilton, who topped last year's worst, did not make the list this year because she stopped wearing furs after seeing a bloody PETA video about the fur industry.

Hilary Duff and Joel Madden have ended their relationship. Madden made a DJ appearance at a Chicago club on Wednesday night and ranted about his newly-single status.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Madden told clubbers Duff broke up with him about ten days ago. He "cited their eight-year age difference as the source of the problems in their relationship." Duff is 19 and Madden is 27. Time to pick up a "Tiger Beat" and pick a new guy

J Lo pulls the diva moves on TomKat excursion
Jennifer Lopez ticked off fellow celeb passengers on a private jet taking them to the TomKat wedding- by claiming all the best seats for her party.
Other celebrity passengers including Jada Pinkett Smith, Leah Remini and Cameron Crowe "were shocked when they boarded the luxury 757 to find Lopez had taken over."
Us Weekly reports, "Jennifer Lopez sent her assistant to secure seats by laying her belongings on all the best seats!" Aww. Remember doing that in the fourth grade lunchroom?
Lopez kept up the diva behavior at a group dinner by refusing to stick to the informal dress code. The mag says, "The November 16 welcome dinner was supposed to be casual. But J.Lo, of course, wore a gown. So much for casual." Did she wear white to the wedding too?
Da Vinci Code sequel... on it's way
A sequel to The Da Vinci Code is in the works. Scriptwriter Akiva Goldsman, who adapted the Dan Brown novel for the screen, has reportedly been paid $3.8 million to write the sequel.
Part two is said to be based on the novel Angels And Demons, the book which precedes The Da Vinci Code.
Sources say the plot will be altered so that it can follow on from the first film. Expect a release in 2008

Heidi Klum has a new baby boy
Heidi Klum and her husband, Seal, have welcomed a baby boy into the world. "He is healthy, beautiful and looks just like his mother," Seal wrote on Klum's website.
Johan Riley Fyodor Taiwo Samuel, weighed in at 8 pounds, 11 ounces. He joins his brother, 1-year-old Henry Guenther Ademola Dashtu Samuel- and Klum's 2-year-old daughter, Leni, from her previous relationship with Flavio Briatore

Ed Norton embarrassed to take when he already has so much
Edward Norton is all about banishing lavish gift baskets on presenters at top awards shows. Norton "is appalled" by the freebies celebs pick up backstage at events like the Golden Globes and the Oscars, while many people watching the ceremonies at home are "struggling to pay the rent and feed their kids." So refreshing to see a human that isn't completely self centered and selfish.
He says, "A lot of us have talked to the Academy Awards producers about this and I think they're actually going to scuttle the gift baskets and that kind of stuff. I mean the gift baskets, worth amounts of money that a low income family could live on for a year, are given to people who have so much already. It gets depressing. You sit there, going, 'This is an embarrassment.'" Nothing worse than someone sitting in a big pile of wealth hoarding it all to themselves.

Keira Knightley is reportedly getting married next year. She is said to have revealed her engagement during a party held by Lindsay Lohan at London's Paper nightclub on Friday night.
A witness said, "Keira looked radiant and seemed to want the world to know that she and Rupert had got engaged. She even told the waiter, 'Please get my husband a drink.'"
She allegedly told her friends, "We've already decided to get married in Italy. Tom Cruise is living my dream by marrying in a castle." Rupert is said to have proposed to Keira in September after she finished shooting her parts for the third 'Pirates of the Caribbean' film, 'At World' s End'.
