Sharon Stone lost to Catherine Zeta Jones for the lead role in a bio of Lana Turner...and she's pissed. Apparently Stone was in the running for the part for years and even Turner herself wanted Stone to play her.
Producers wanted a newer, younger star to play the late screen actress. Stone is 47 and Zeta Jones is 35. Yeowch.
Stone has been quoted saying, "I met Lana in her final years and liked her a great deal. She was every inch the great movie star and we got along really well. She said if there was a film to be made on her life, then I was her choice."
