Drew joins the fight against hunger

Drew Barrymore is now an Ambassador Against Hunger for the United Nation's World Food Program. Barrymore joins Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Madonna and Leonardo DiCaprio, who are all campaigning to improve the lives of people in impoverished parts of the world.

Barrymore said of her responsibilities, "I am honored and humbled to accept this challenging and rewarding assignment. I can't think of any issue that is more important than working to see that no schoolchild in this world goes hungry."

"Feeding a child at school is such a simple thing- but it works miracles," she said. "School feeding not only fills stomachs, but has a proven track record of boosting enrollment, attendance and academic performance. For just pennies a day per child, this program changes lives and ultimately can impact the futures of poor countries around the world in a profound way."

"We are delighted to have Drew join our team," WFP executive director Josette Sheeran said. "Her passion and commitment to changing the world for the better and of course the respect and admiration she commands will make her a wonderful champion for school feeding."

Why can't they just work quietly behind the scenes? They could save the entire continent of Africa if they'd pool their movie money. Just another disgusting display of self- aggrandization.

Umm... What are you talking about? This is a GOOD a thing. "Working quietly behind the scenes" wouldn't do anything for anyone. Drew is helping people, who cares WHY she is helping. The simple fact is that she IS helping, which is not disgusting at all. Good for her.

Hello there! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which
blog platform are you using for this website?
I'm getting fed up of Wordpress because I've had problems
with hackers and I'm looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
