Sting ordered to pay for discrimination

Yesterday, Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler, were ordered to pay a former chef $51,000 in compensation after she won a sexual-discrimination claim against them.

Jane Martin, 41, won her claim back in May. She said she was fired after she became pregnant. Martin said she had "worked for the couple for eight years, cooking meals for them and guests including Madonna and Elton John."

Part of the problem? Martin claims that Trudie Styler has a "grandiose ego." She says that Styler was upset when she got pregnant- and she punished her for it. She made the poor woman work long hours and when she fell ill- Styler "became angry with her." Nice.

It was ruled in May that Martin had been unlawfully dismissed. Sting and Styler said they had already launched an appeal.
