Schneider was shooting his latest film in a California women's prison on Wednesday morning when he passed out and was taken to a hospital. Temperatures in the prison sometimes reach 110 degrees. Hollywood glam
Charlize Theron has been awarded the Los Angeles Film Festival's Spirit of Independence award.
"She is a big movie star," said Dawn Hudson, awards director. "But what we love about her is that she's made interesting choices in her career. She's taken on challenging roles in her career when other movie stars don't."
"I think the biggest misconception about independent filmmaking is that if you do those movies, you'll always be thought of as that kind of actor," Charlize said. "And then you don't get to do the other things. And it's not true."

Crazy salesman tries to steal Brad Pitt's identity!
A salesman tried to "fleece a money exchanger in the United Arab Emirates by using an identity card bearing the picture of Brad Pitt," a newspaper reported Thursday.
The Gulf News said the 29-year-old Jordanian had been told by his brother, who worked at the Dubai money exchange, that more than $23,000 in cash had been transferred to the bureau for a client who had not picked it up for more than three months.
The Jordanian then forged an ID using the client's name and a picture of Pitt. He hoped his brother would then be able to hand over the cash and keep a photocopy of the fake ID as record of the transfer.
The man, who was arrested on a tip from an informant, told police when he was caught that he did not know whose picture he had downloaded from the Internet. The Dubai prosecutor's office has charged the man with forgery and attempted embezzlement.

Walters ticked off - ABC tells Star, Don't come back!
Barb Walters wasn't too happy about Star Jones running her mouth on The View yesterday.
Walters, who created and produces the show, says, "I love Star and I was trying to do everything I possibly could - up until this morning when I was betrayed - to protect her. I would have loved for Star to have left and not said 'I was fired, ' and not make it look like the program was somehow being cruel to her."
"Up until this morning..." Run Star, run! Walters admits ABC declined to renew Jones Reynolds' contract after research showed audiences were "turned off by the former lawyer's dramatic weight loss and her 2004 marriage to Al Reynolds, where she plugged companies on air in exchange for freebies for her wedding."
Walters adds, "We tried to talk them out of it and we tried to give Star time to redeem herself in the eyes of the audience, and the research just kept getting worse."
Update: ABC says "leave immediately"

"Knowing that someone was going to hound us for that first photo - and was going to profit immensely for doing it - I just couldn't live with it. We were able to turn that around and collect millions for people who are really going to need it. It's the first time I've actually felt like we have some degree of control over it (the media attention)."

Cruise is jealous of Brangelina
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes refused to sell pictures of their new daughter Suri, after the photos were offered to the media and failed to get as much money as baby Brangelina.
Photos of Shiloh were reportedly sold to People magazine for $4 million, but pictures of Suri Cruise produced not more than a $3 million bid.
At that point the offer for the photos was reportedly rescinded. Aww, just like high school. A "magazine expert" said now that the baby is nearly three months old, her price will only go down, adding, "Shiloh was the whole deal. We won't see a baby like that again for a while."

Star Jones...okay, buh bye
Star Jones announced Tuesday morning on The View that she'll be leaving the show in July.
"Something's been on my heart for a little bit, and after much prayer and counsel I feel like this is the right time to tell you that the show is moving in another direction for its tenth season and I will not be returning as cohost next year," she said on the air.
"That's shocking to me," interrupted Joy Behar, prompting Jones Reynolds to link hands with her cohosts. Pffft
Star said, "I'm not sure what the future holds, but I'm absolutely sure who holds the future." Ohhh, don't count your chickens...
Walters said, "It is a new chapter for Star. It will be a new chapter for The View in the fall."
Jones then turned around and told People mag, "What you don't know is that my contract was not renewed for the tenth season. I feel like I was fired." She adds that she was told her contract wouldn't be renewed just days before news leaked that O'Donnell would be joining The View.

Anna Nicole can almost touch the money
E. Pierce Marshall, who feuded for years with Anna Nicole Smith over his father's oil fortune, has died at age 67.
He passed unexpectedly Tuesday evening in Dallas from a "brief and extremely aggressive infection."
E. Pierce has been locked in a legal battle with Anna Nicole over her entitlement to the estate since 1994. The U.S. Supreme Court last month revived Smith's pursuit of her late husband's millions, ruling that she deserves another day in court.
Previously, Smith won a $474 million judgment, which was cut to about $89 million and eventually reduced to zero.
