Anna Nicole says no to DNA test

An attorney for Anna Nicole Smith said that she has no intention of submitting her 6-week-old daughter for paternity testing as demanded by Larry Birkhead.

Birkhead filed a court order for Smith to bring the baby to California for a DNA test. A birth certificate lists her current partner, Howard K. Stern, as the father of Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern.

"Why should Anna accommodate him at all?" asked attorney Wayne Munroe. "I don't think she's going to run her life according to his wishes." For the love of...here's an idea! Do the test, prove he's not the father and then he will go away and everyone can move on. Bonus? Anna will actually know who the baby's daddy is

Birkhead's attorney, Debra Opri, said "We're going to get that paternity test. It may not be today, it may not be tomorrow, but I'm not going away."

A hearing on Birkhead's lawsuit has been scheduled for Oct. 26. If he is confirmed to be the father, he could receive visitation or custody rights and possibly a large amount of child support.

Companies offering genetic testing services and/or commercial genetic testing products are a growing resource. There are three different companies that provide paternity testing; you can do a general search online to find the companies in your area. A family can find out very quickly if there is a biological relationship between a child and a father with a paternity test.
